#FIRST THINGS FIRST
Once you have included the Rapid Rails Theme gem in your Gemfile, along with its custom source, and run
bundle install, you're almost done.
The first thing to do, if you haven't done so already, is to run the main generator by executing:
bin/rails g rrt:install
You will be prompted if anything will be overwritten, and if you're not sure say no and double check first that you won't overwrite anything you need, or press
dto have Rails show you the diff of changes.
Running this generator will copy the necessary stylesheets and so on to get you up and running.
#LETS MAKE A GORGEOUS DASHBOARD IN 10 SECONDS
A fun thing to run next might be the dashboard generator since it will give you something nice to look at. First we need to generate the Dashboard view itself:
bin/rails g rrt:dashboard_pages home dashboard
This will generate the Dashboard view on the
homecontroller under the
dashboardaction, which you can visit at the url http://localhost:3000/home/dashboard (assuming you didn't change the port that the Rails server starts up on).
Once you've done that, and you hit the URL for the dashboard you should be greeted with something that looks like this:
Pretty nice, eh?
If you want to see what else you can run next, take a look at the Code Generators section, or run the command
bin/rails g | grep 'rrt'
It's worth noting that generally each generator supports multiple "variants" that it can generate, for example there are several landing pages. You would generate a landing page variant like so:
bin/rails g rrt:landing_pages home index --variant=1
Which would generate the Landing Page 1 in the online demo.
So if you wanted the 4th Landing Page variant, you'd run:
bin/rails g rrt:landing_pages home index --variant=4
